mantra is a non-profit ambient music project with the aim of raising funds for global humanitarian causes, such as the current war in gaza.
the project consists of a series of studies on a single melody that constitues a mantra, through a wide range of styles such as ambient, choral and electronic music.

the idea is to create an album that acts as a symbol for introspection and peace, for the current and future times.

the music will be exclusively released on vinyl, in a handcrafted and elegant presentation

all the profits will be donated to humanitarian causes, such as the current wars in gaza, ukraine and sudan.

here are some demos to illustrate the reinterpretation of the mantra

who is behind mantra
leon guallart is the writer of the mantra, firstly featured in its parent album called comfort, that has the mission of creating a space of emotional security for adverse times. it has also been exclusively released on vinyl. here is a song from it:

why did mantra originated?
in june 2024, leon got exposed to dreadful images of the current war in gaza. instead of avoiding them, as he did until that moment, he decided to take them in and feel the traumatic stage of the current conflicts in the world, such as sudan’s as ukraine.
after that, leon did not understand how the entertainment industry continued its machinary to distract from what’s currently happening in the world.

why exclusively on vinyl?
it is the best format to raise funds for the cause.  it is also an opportunity for audiences to connect with the music in a more present way. furthermore, most suppliers for the production of the vinyl have already agreed on donating the materials for the cause

leon’s team has specialized on the vinyl format and has the network to succesfully communicate its cause. here is a video on the design of leon’s first vinyl

to what non-profits will the proceeds be donated?
the donatives will mainly be focused to medical and alimentary relief. we’re currently establishing links with the united nations to explore what is the best path to make an impact with the project funds.
some ngo’s we’re currently exploring are msf, unfpa and un crisis relief for ukraine and the palestinian conflicts, and kids for kids in sudan.

it is also important to mention that while all the profits will be donated to humanitarian causes, the focus of the project not necesarely monetary but to raise awareness, to create a dialogue around what art’s and music’s role is in the current and future state of the world

when will the project come out?
